Advanced Book Binding
Yesterday
me and Lorna took part in the advanced book binding course, last time we learnt
how to bind a simple (saddle stitch and perfect bound book) We already knew how
to saddle stitch, which includes stapling through the centrefold
from the first session, although we were taught some extra techniques to
consider with folding and cutting in order to make our books look professional.
These techniques came in really handy for the module that has just finished,
where I made my prospectus using one of the techniques taught, and also applied
the techniques taught when making my rationale and style guide. This advanced
course was at first tricky, but after it was really simple. Our books are
currently in the press drying at the moment and during the next session we will
be putting a hard back cover onto them to finish them off.
